Pioneer SX-737 Stereo Receiver

Pioneer SX-737 Stereo AM/FM Receiver.

Fully restored in August 2025. We use ONLY hiqh quality audio grade parts, ordered at Mouser/DigiKey. No corner cutting to save a few bucks.

What was done:

Both filter capacitors have been replaced/upgraded with the same diameter to keep the original design.

Power output transistors were replaced with Onsemi MJ21195G/MJ21196G

ALL electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with audio grade Nichicon UPW, UKL, WIMA and Kemet film caps (<= 4.7uf) All tired resistors and diodes have been replaced with Onsemi, Fairchild. Many noisy and tired transistors were replaced. LED lamp upgrade. Bias and DC Offset adjusted to specs. The final output power test after restoration brought us the following measurements (see the last photo): first channel = 18.2v, second = 18.7v and output: Channel 1: 41.4 W RMS Channel 2: 43.7 W RMS into 8 ohm. Factory's specs are 35 W/channel. Exterior conditions: Faceplate. The front side is in very good condition, but there are some light dings and scratches. The biggest one is under volume knob. All imperfections are pictured. Wood. Faceplate's wood planks are in perfect condition, external corners are like new. Reconditioned with a walnut finish.
