Pioneer SX-737 Stereo Receiver

Pioneer SX-737 Stereo AM/FM Receiver.

Fully restored in November 2025. We use ONLY hiqh quality audio grade parts, ordered at Mouser/DigiKey. No corner cutting to save a few bucks.

What was done:

Both filter capacitors have been replaced/upgraded with the same diameter to keep the original design.

Power output transistors were replaced with Onsemi MJ21195G/MJ21196G

ALL electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with audio grade Nichicon UPW, UKL, WIMA and Kemet film caps (<= 4.7uf)

All tired resistors and diodes have been replaced with Onsemi, Fairchild.

Many noisy and tired transistors were replaced.

LED lamp upgrade.

Bias and DC Offset adjusted to specs.

The final output power test after restoration brought us the following measurements (see the last photo): output: Channel 1: 40.5 W RMS Channel 2: 39.9 W RMS into 8 ohm. Factory’s specs are 35 W/channel.

Exterior conditions:

Faceplate. The front side is in very good condition. Top side has very light imperfections. All imperfections are pictured.
Wood. Very good. Reconditioned with a walnut finish.

Every restored unit has a full burning day at medium volume.

Will be double boxed for shipment.

This model is slightly larger and doesn’t fit the standard boxes used for similar units (SX-727, SX-828). The next available box size is much larger, shipping is more expensive, so local pickup is welcome.
